The rest of the time...

On Thursday I gave this short Daedalus-centric list of things I chose between when I have some free time:
  • Do some new development on Daedalus
  • Play games/watch TV/relax
  • Reply to a few emails/comments, post a new entry here

I gave a long list of stuff I've been working on that represents the first bullet point over the past 5-6 months. I thought it might be interesting to list a few of the things covered by the second bullet point in the same period of time:

There's quite a lot of Xbox 360 games on that list. Curse my inexplicable addiction to accruing gamerpoints! Most of the DS and PSP games have just been from the hours spent commuting to and from work - I don't tend to use either much around the house.

By far the most significant item on that list for me was changing jobs. I don't really want to go into too many specific details, so I'll just say that I'm working in games again now and leave it at that. It's nice to have a new platform to explore, and get paid for doing it. I have a nicer commute to work in the morning too. It takes the same time, but I'm travelling against the main flow of people so I can stretch out with my PSP/DS and have a carriage to myself rather than squeezing into an overcrowded train each morning.

Anyway, enough of the offtopic banter! I just wanted to give you some idea of the other things I've been up to in my absence from the blogowebs.

Good for you for taking some time to yourself. You deserve it! Seems that your gaming interests know no bounds in terms of consoles. :) But that's obviously shown, since you're deving a Nintendo N64 emulator for a Sony handheld. :)

The part about you working for a game company wildly intrigues me. Guess you can't drop names, huh?

Sounds good man, it's always nice to have other things to focus your mind on. Don't want to get burned out on one particular thing.

What's the DS like anyways? I've always wondered. I got a Wii last christmas; I'm now waiting for the "good" games to come out. It's quite a fun console and adds a bit of workout to your normal gaming experience. :)

Anyways, good to see your not slaving over making this N64 emulator, don't let the smaller things in life get in the way.

Take it easy,
Zak ( aka Onorok )

childress: Thanks :) I could tell, but I prefer to keep a certain level of anonymity. :)

zack: The DS is great. It appeals to me for different reasons than the PSP, mainly because of the different types of games that make it on there. Trauma Center is a great example for this - I'm interested to see how well that translates to the Wii.

did you enjoyed spain? where did you go? i'm from valencia in spain here is a lot of beach.

Do you like the most the fps games?

japo freak: I was near Murcia, not a million miles away from Valencia :) The beaches were very nice, but it was a bit too cold to sunbathe (even though the weather was very nice for December :)

I do like FPS games, but mostly on the PC to be honest. Gears of War is great on the 360, but I'd still prefer a mouse and keyboard any day. Looking forward to Quake Wars (out in April hopefully!)

Gears of War is so far the best shooting game I've ever played. It's just so addicting!
